Google has marked the commencement of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in India with a special doodle. The Google doodle features a raised index finger with indelible ink, symbolizing the spirit of Indian electoral democracy.

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 covers 102 constituencies across 21 states and union territories (UTs). This phase began on April 19 and includes complete coverage in 10 states and UTs and partial coverage in 11 others.

States and UTs participating in the initial phase include Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Rajasthan, parts of Maharashtra, Tripura, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Meghalaya.

In addition to Lok Sabha elections, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh are also conducting elections to choose their respective assemblies in this phase.

The subsequent phases of voting are scheduled as follows: April 26 (Phase 2), May 7 (Phase 3), May 13 (Phase 4), May 20 (Phase 5), May 25 (Phase 6), and June 1 (Phase 7). These phases will cover the remaining constituencies across the country.

The Google Doodle reflects the significance of the electoral process in India, highlighting the role of every citizen in shaping the nation’s future through their vote.

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are crucial for India’s democratic process, as citizens exercise their right to vote and choose their representatives for the next five years.
