Project Veer Gatha 2 : A story of Heroism

Government’s small effort to develop patriotism

VEER GATHA 2.0 PROJECT

The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education have once again joined forces to launch the second edition of Project Veer Gatha. This project aims to encourage students to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of India’s gallantry award winners and to educate and inspire the next generation of citizens.

Project Veer Gatha 2.0 is open to all schools in all states and union territories, and will culminate in a prize distribution ceremony in January 2023. The Ministry of Defence, through the field formations of the Army, Navy, and Airforce, will be organizing virtual and face-to-face awareness programs and sessions for schools across the country. During these interactive sessions, presentations will be made by armed forces personnel on operations and battles, and students will have the opportunity to ask questions.

As part of the project, students can work on different projects related to gallantry award winners. These projects can take the form of interdisciplinary and art-integrated activities such as poems, essays, stories, paintings, drawings, and videos. The best projects will be awarded nationally by the Ministry of Defence on Republic Day.

To facilitate a larger participation of students from different school boards, Project Veer Gatha 2.0 will be launched on the CBSE IT platform for CBSE schools and the MyGov platform for state schools. Schools need to register all participating students at the Gallantry Awards Portal of the Ministry of Defence, where they will receive a unique ID.

In conclusion, Project Veer Gatha 2.0 is a great opportunity for students to honour the brave heroes of our nation, learn about their sacrifices, and develop their creative and critical thinking skills. We encourage all schools to participate in this inspiring and educational project.
