SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH ISRO MADE NATION PROUD AGAIN

On Sunday, a historic event took place in Pattipolam village of Chengalpattu district in Tamil Nadu, as The Martin Foundation in association with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation and Space Zone India launched the APJ Abdul Kalam Satellite Launch Vehicle Mission-2023. The launch was graced by the presence of Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and marked a significant milestone in the field of science and technology.

The mission involved more than 5,000 students from Grades six to twelve, who were given the opportunity to design and develop 150 PICO satellites. This project has provided these students with the chance to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and has also given them hands-on experience in the field of satellite technology. The Martin Foundation, a non-profit organization in Tamil Nadu, funded 85 per cent of this project, making it accessible to a larger number of students.

Through virtual classes and hands-on sessions, the selected students were able to explore the project domain and learn about the numerous opportunities available in the space sciences. The project has been a good platform to train students in space sciences and help them explore career opportunities in the field. Notably, a total of 2,000 students from more than 100 government schools were a part of this rocket project.

The launch of the APJ Abdul Kalam Satellite Launch Vehicle Mission-2023 is a significant achievement, as it not only offers students an opportunity to develop their scientific and technological skills but also contributes to the growth of the space industry in India. This mission is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students and the organizations involved and sets the stage for future innovation and progress in the field of science and technology. We can expect more such initiatives in the future to inspire and empower the next generation of scientists and technologists.
